Cinema as photography

Just finished (re-re-re) watching ‘Help!’ — 1965, and as much as it is a fun movie and I enjoy it, I see a lot of very creative cinematography in the movie (Directed by Richard Lester, Cinematographer David Watson) — which can translate directly to still photography. Great use of depth of field, planes of focus, composition, lighting and shooting angles — it enhances the visual impact of the film (fun and creative), but shows a lot of thought and planning. Not your typical ‘pop’ movie. If you haven’t seen it ever — or in a while — check it out….
